Five Laws, One New Supreme Court

A United Press International (UPI) story is reporting today that five states are proposing anti-abortion laws. These laws are coming as the U.S. Supreme Court is to be reshaped. The five states are; Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, South Dakota and Tennessee. The laws being proposed would ban all abortions except when the woman’s life is in danger.

The UPI story also says that if enacted, the laws would be the first absolute bans on abortion since the Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973.

Of course this is drawing the battle lines for a Supreme Court fight. As the drama continues to unfold, Judge Samuel Alito Jr., has just been confirmed as the 110th Supreme Court justice, striking fear and trepidation in the hearts of the pro-abortion faithful.

Good News From The Goofy Left

First, Cindy Sheehan is supposedly going to run for senate against Diane Feinstein, then The Drudge Report, http://drudgereport.com/ reports that Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee has spent nearly all their money. He’s whittled their war chest down to five and a half million. Meanwhile, the Republicans still have 34 million in the bank.

Democratic leaders are asking “I wonder what’s going on?”

Well duh, you put Howard Dean in charge. What the hell did you think might happen?

Act Of War

Just a day or two ago, World Net Daily reported that authorities discovered another tunnel traversing the U.S - Mexican border. This tunnel was high enough for a man to stand upright, and it had electricity and a ventilation system. The shaft is concrete-lined and measures 6 feet by 12 feet and it has a metal ladder that leads to the packed-earth tunnel. Authorities also found two tons of marijuana inside the tunnel.

In tandem with this story, the Los Angeles Times reported that armed Mexican government personnel made “unauthorized incursions” into the United States five times in the last quarter of 2005. This includes one incident last month in southern California, according to confidential Department of Homeland Security records.

The Los Angeles Times said that records they obtained provide new details on more than 12 incursions into the United States, including the five most recent ones.

The armed intrusions involved Mexican police officers or soldiers in military vehicles and were among 231 such incidents recorded by the U.S. Border Patrol in the last 10 years.

According to World Net Daily, earlier this month the Department of Homeland Security reported 216 incursions by Mexican soldiers during the past 10 years.

Details of the incidents have emerged as authorities have scrambled to investigate a dangerous confrontation Monday in Texas.

During that invasion, heavily armed Mexican personnel in a military-style Humvee helped drug smugglers fleeing American authorities to escape back across the border into Mexico. An internal Border Patrol summary of the incident stated that the Humvee was equipped with a .50-caliber machine gun. It was the second invasive incident in three months in the same rural county southeast of El Paso.

“It's clear you're dealing with a large number of incursions by bona-fide Mexican military units, based on the tactics and the equipment being used,” said T.J. Bonner, a Border Patrol agent and president of the agents union.

World Net Daily also reported that the Foreign Minister of Mexico, Luis Ernesto Derbez, said “Members of the U.S. Army have helped protect people who were processing and transporting drugs. And just as that has happened ... it is very probable that something like that could have happened, that in reality they (the uniformed men at the border) were members of some of their groups disguised as Mexican soldiers with Humvees.”

Say what? This absurdity comes from the top diplomat in Mexico.

The World Net Daily story also said that “Border Patrol agents reportedly called for backup after seeing what they believed to be Mexican army troops with several mounted machine guns on the ground more than 200 yards inside the U.S. border – near Neely's Crossing, about 50 miles east of El Paso.”

Sounds like an invasion to me.

So, why is President Bush silent about this problem? What is the Department of Homeland Security going to do about it? President Bush had the audacity to call the Minute Men Project “vigilante justice” and yet strangely, no words of consternation towards Mexico about these border intrusions. I believe these “incidents” should be treated as what they are, acts of war.

"You Have To Protect Your Children"

Kudos to Dave F. Swafford, 42, who punched out a 35-year-old aide in front of a class full of students at Lakewood Ranch High School in Florida, after Mr. Swafford’s daughter and other female students came forward to report that the teachers assistant engaged in inappropriate touching and conduct.
“I'm not real proud of what I did. You have to protect your children, and my daughter does not lie to me.” Mr. Swafford told The Associated Press.
Mr. Swafford said he came to the school to meet with officials about the allegations. After he saw that the aide was not in the meeting, he asked his daughter to take him to the classroom. An argument between the two men became heated, and the father said; “I lost control.” Mr. Swafford was arrested and spent 10 hours in jail but was released after posting bond. Mr. Swafford said; “I wanted to know why the guy was in a classroom teaching after my daughter came forward.”
Why, indeed?
“If some other parents would do this, maybe some of these pedophiles would crawl back under rocks where they belong,” Mr. Swafford said.
Mr. Swafford was named Father of the Year by a local radio station for his actions.

It's A Child, Not A Choice

(Photo is from keloland.com)
On January 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that American women should have the legally protected right to abortion on demand. Since then, over 45 million babies have been killed as a result.
45 million. (45,000,000)

That’s more than the population (July 2005 estimate) of the following countries:

Afghanistan 29,928,987
Algeria 32,531,853
Argentina 39,537,943
Australia 20,090,437
Cambodia 13,607,069
Guatemala 14,655,189
Iraq 26,074,906
Spain 40,341,462
(The source of this information comes from the CIA world fact book)
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html

There are several more countries that could fit into this list, but, you get the idea.

Speaking to pro-life rally participants today, President George W. Bush said:
“We're working to persuade more of our fellow Americans of the rightness of our cause. This is a cause that appeals to the conscience of our citizens and is rooted in America's deepest principles. And history tells us that with such a cause we will prevail. You believe, as I do, that every human life has value, that the strong have a duty to protect the weak, and that the self-evident truths of the Declaration of Independence apply to everyone, not just to those considered healthy or wanted or convenient. These principles call us to defend the sick and the dying, persons with disabilities and birth defects, all who are weak and vulnerable, especially unborn children.”

Public statements such as this from the President, plus his two recent appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court, should make pro-life advocates feel a little more confident about the repeal of Roe v. Wade, and it should cause a shrill knee jerk reaction from radical pro-abortion liberals.

When Does Life Begin?

Photo is from www.antiabortionsigns.com

33 years ago, The U.S. Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973.

President Ronald Reagan offered a different point of view.

“More than a decade ago, a Supreme Court decision literally wiped off the books of fifty states statutes protecting the rights of unborn children. Abortion on demand now takes the lives of up to one and a half million unborn children a year. Human life legislation ending this tragedy will someday pass the Congress, and you and I must never rest until it does. Unless and until it can be proven that the unborn child is not a living entity, then its right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness must be protected.”

President Ronald Reagan, March 8 1983, Annual Convention of the National Association of Evangelicals Orlando, FL.

Star Is Stuck On Stupid

Star Jones of “The View” television talk show has given us the benefit of her outstanding intellect. She has settled the terrorism problem. Referring to President George Bush and Osama bin Laden, Jones said on her TV show - “You know what? At some point, one of these men has to put it back in his pants and zip up the zipper.”

She went on to say that the president should hold “some kind of talk” with OBL.
She also said about OBL, “I won't trust him, but anything that gives me the opportunity to seek peace, I would at least check it out. People make deals with the devil all the time. We make deals with people we don't like.”

Well Star, maybe you make deals with the devil all the time, maybe you’ve gone to bed with the devil, maybe you’ve gone to bed with Osama. I don’t know, I don’t care. Every time Jones opens her mouth she removes any doubt of her incredible stupidity.

Maybe It's Time To Walk The Walk

For once I can agree with Jacques Chirac on something.
Speaking at a submarine base in northwestern France, he said that France would be ready to use nuclear weapons against any state that carried out a terrorist attack against it. Chirac stated “The leaders of states who would use terrorist means against us, as well as those who would consider using in one way or another weapons of mass destruction, must understand that they would lay themselves open to a firm and adapted response on our part. This response could be a conventional one. It could also be of a different kind.”
Good for Jacques, if he means it.
This is the same message that President George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair out to be sending also. Let Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad know exactly what he stands to lose. Let him know that most of Iran would be incinerated.

What Would Mary Jo Kopechne Say?

Democrats have slammed Samuel Alito for his affiliation with the club Concerned Alumni of Princeton. (CAP) The Democrats claim the group is racist and sexist for its early opposition to the Princeton co-ed program.

Senator Ted Kennedy was very vocal during Alito’s confirmation hearing about the judge’s affiliation with CAP.

But Teddy, thou doest protest too much.

Just how pro-women is Ted “Killer” Kennedy? According to The Drudge Report, he belonged to The Owl, an exclusively male social club at Harvard University. Drudge reported that the organization refused to admit women until it was forced to during the 1980s.

Laura Capps, a Kennedy spokeswoman said that no one can question Kennedy’s commitment to equality, justice and civil rights. She also said that The Owl was a social club, and not a radical group “pushing a radical agenda.” She went on to say that even though women were admitted to Harvard during Kennedy’s time there, women weren’t fully integrated to the campus until much later. So that makes it okay, after all, Teddy is a liberal.

It’s okay for liberals to belong to exclusive, elitist social clubs. But it’s not okay for a conservative to do so. This is another fine example of the pretzel logic of liberals.

Teddy can’t be a misogynist because he’s a liberal.

Gee, I wonder what Mary Jo Kopechne would have to say about that. Oh yeah, she can’t say anything, she’s dead. She died in Chappaquiddick, Massachusetts. She drowned in Teddy’s car when he was driving while drunk and drove off a bridge and into a pond.

Kennedy managed to get out of the submerged car, but he left the scene and did not report the incident or where Mary Jo Kopechne was. The next day Kennedy's car was discovered in the pond, and Mary Jo’s body was recovered.

“Killer” Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury, but several details of Mary Jo Kopechne's death remain unknown.

I guess it’s okay for rich liberals to drunkenly allow women to drown in a submerged car and then it’s okay to abandon them.

Bumper Sticker Of The Day

"I support IDF" followed by Hebrew letters that I assume said the same thing.
