Mom Must Be So Proud!

(photo from Debbie Schlussel)

According to Bill Gertz of the Washington Times, U.S. and Israeli officials say that intelligence reports indicate that the cowardly Hezbollah honcho Hassan Nasrallah, is hiding in a foreign mission in Beirut, possibly the Iranian Embassy. But other reports have placed him in other places. Al-Seyassah, a Kuwaiti newspaper, reported yesterday that Nasrallah was seen in Damascus surrounded by Syrian guards in an intelligence agency car.

The report said he was dressed in civilian clothes, not his clerical robes. Well so much for his bravado. I guess he’s afraid he may get whacked. Meanwhile his dupes in Hezbollah are hiding behind the skirts of Lebanese civilian women.

But what other kind of behavior can we expect from chicken-shits with dirty scraggly beards?

Salmonella & E-Coli In Your Neighborhood

A grocery store named Rancho Liborio has come to Commerce City, Colorado, a Denver Suburb. The store is part of the chain - Liborio Markets, based in California. Television station KUSA, Channel 9 News in Denver has described the store as a “Latino-based” store. Of course, in Colorado, “Latino-based” means Mexican.

Commerce City has a high Mexican population so the store should do pretty well. Three additional stores are scheduled to open later this year in Aurora, Colorado Springs, and Greeley. Next year the owner plans to open four more in Westminster, Thornton, and two in Denver.

They’re just bringing in a little bit of Mexico to an area near you.

Apparently, one of the specialty food items will be live chickens that will be slaughtered in-house, on the premises, in the back. Store owner, Anthony Trujillo, is quoted as saying; "It's just live poultry that's processed in the back that has no access to the store."

Trujillo went on to describe the process saying that about 150 chickens a day will be trucked in to the store in climate-controlled trucks, then unloaded into a climate-controlled room in the back.

Every morning, the chickens will be given a fatal electric shock, de-feathered, cleaned, cut, and put on the shelves. Trujillo says no live chickens will remain in the back for more than five hours.

Trujillo must be very thoughtful, as he wants to make sure that the chickens enjoy a climate controlled environment just before they get the crap shocked out of them.

Neighbors are not happy. Some neighborhood residents have started a petition drive to stop the store from slaughtering in-house.

The new store has caused a stir in the neighborhood in which it will reside. One resident said;

"We're just appalled, if they want to do this in the privacy of their home, I don’t care. But we’re just opening up a keg of worms if this happens. If they make an exception for them, they're going to have to make an exception for everyone."

Apparently city law dictates that no slaughtering of livestock is allowed where such zoning has not been approved.

I asked a few co-workers of mine if they had heard about this new store. I kept the question neutral as I just wanted to hear what their thoughts were without making them defend their answer.

Not one of my colleagues saw a problem with the store. Their answers were similar. They all mentioned the fact that if you buy chicken in one of the supermarkets, someone still has to kill the chicken. They just kill it somewhere else. The only difference is one of geography, i.e. where the chicken meets its demise.

But where the chicken dies is not really the problem.

Anywhere you have live poultry, you have poultry droppings. Anywhere you have feces you have the potential for disease. And there ain’t too much nastier than a bunch of chickens. Ever hear of Salmonella, E-Coli, Avian Flu?

And where does it end? Hogs slaughtered to order on the premises? Will customers be given the choice of which live steer they want their steak from?

It all comes down to cultural diversity doesn’t it? I’m sure proponents of cultural diversity will think it’s cool to have an authentic Mexican grocery store in town. And since many illegals are sneaking across the border and coming to Colorado, they need a store where they pick up the fixin’s for a good home cooked meal.

Live animals and ready-to-buy food don’t mix. In-house slaughter isn’t an American custom. It’s simply not part of our culture. It is however, a third world kind of thing to do.

Let’s leave it in the third world where it belongs.

The Bravery Of Some, The Cowardice Of Others

"Citizens of Israel, there are moments in the life of a nation, when it is compelled to look directly into the face of reality and say: no more…

Israel will not be held hostage - not by terror gangs or by a terrorist authority or by any sovereign state…”

Ehud Olmert, Prime Minister of Israel

And yet, there were protestors in the streets of Tel Aviv chanting:

"Olmert agreed with Bush: War and occupation."

"Stop the war monstrosity."

"Say no to the brutal bombardments on Gaza."

All in protest of the Israeli Defense Force’s retaliatory military strikes in Southern Lebanon.

They also accused Defense Minister Amir Peretz of murdering children in Gaza, and chanting: "Peretz, don't worry, we'll be seeing you at The Hague."

It appears that stupid, appeasing, left wingers live everywhere, not just the U.S. and Europe. But you would think that people who are constantly and directly impacted by the Islamic terrorist attacks, such as everyday Israelis, would know better than to capitulate by exhibiting such masochistic behavior.

Converted Chicken?

Rueters reports today that in the village of Stepnoi in Kazakhstan a chicken laid an egg with “Allah” written on the shell. The farmer verified with his mosque that the egg does indeed say Allah in Arabic.

It makes one wonder; will this cause rioting and hooliganism in the Muslim world reminiscent of the Mohammad cartoon scandal?

The Savagery Of Islam

Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker / Pfc. Kristian Menchaca

Islamic Web sites released video showing the mutilated bodies of Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, 25, and Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, the two U.S. soldiers kidnapped and killed last month south of Baghdad.

What happened to these two young men is not surprising to me or anyone else with half a brain and an open eye. Though the atrocity itself is shocking, the fact that it happened and who did it does not shock me at all. What does shock me is the unbelievable lack of outrage, indeed, a total lack of response of any kind, by the islamofascist groupies and sympathizers around the world, and especially those here in America.

These two boys could have been your sons.

Gracias Manuel

A red Ford F-150 pick up truck with a dark haired man wearing a white cowboy hat traveling along a highway stops because a tree has fallen and blocked the lanes of the road. The F-150 goes off-road around the tree. A convertible is traveling on the same highway and comes to a stop because of the fallen tree. The man in the red Ford F-150 pick up comes back and attaches a chain to the tree and pulls it off the road to allow the convertible to continue.

The pretty dark haired woman sitting in the passenger seat of the convertible smiles and says to the man in the pick up; “Gracias Manuel.” He tips his hat to her and drives off. The woman’s companion says; “You know him?” “He’s my ex-boyfriend.” She answers.

This ford commercial is a not so subtle pandering to the market of illegal Mexican immigrants in the U.S. How do I know this? Simple. In my home city, we have a large population of Mexican illegals and many of them wear western style shirts, Wrangler boot cut jeans, cowboy boots and white cowboy hats. It’s almost a uniform. They look very much like Manuel. They tend to drive pick ups, largely F-150’s. In many cases, new or mostly new F-150’s. (This fact tends to disprove the claim that Mexican illegals do the low paying work that Americans won’t do. In fact, many illegals work at well paying construction or trade jobs, they just work for a little less than Americans, thus, undercutting American workers. They still will make several dollars above minimum wage.)

I also saw a television news story over the weekend reporting that the Centers for Disease Control have now recommended that children in ALL states receive the vaccination to prevent Hepatitis A. Up until recently, Hepatitis A was considered a third world disease and only in the border states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California along with the west coastal states of Oregon and Washington were the vaccinations recommended.

Now all states are considered at risk and the reason given was because of the high influx of Mexican illegals who have come across the border.

But apparently Ford doesn’t mind joining the pro-illegal immigrant lobby’s pandering to an illegal immigrant market.

So Manuel will bring his third world diseases across the border but it’s okay because he just might buy a Ford F-150 pick up truck.

Gee, gracias Manuel.

Be Aware, Be Prepared

This Image is copyrighted and can be purchased on various media at

Recently my workplace held an awareness campaign to prevent sexual assault in response to an attempted sexual assault on a woman in an adjacent parking lot. The woman in the parking lot was accosted by a man who grabbed her by the arm and then attempted to drag her away. She was able to punch and push the man away. She ran one way, he ran the opposite direction.

The campaign consisted of human resources and security teaming up to distribute free key chain aerosol canisters of pepper spray. Upon receiving the pepper spray, the recipients had to attend a mandatory training session and sign a waiver.

It would make me a little nervous to depend on pepper spray to thwart an assault. Now, I’ve tested pepper spray and I know it will definitely affect me adversely. No more of that, thank you very much.

However, I have seen a fair number of violent men who seem unaffected by having pepper sprayed in their face. In fact, it made them down right cranky.

As disconcerting as it was to see the flyer with it’s over reliance on pepper spray, more disturbing was the additional flyer circulated with it. It was titled “Assertiveness Skills” and had a logo of a cute little hand drawn butterfly crowned by the statement; Women: Protecting Ourselves. I’ve pasted the entire text of the one page flyer below.

Many women have been socialized to ignore or excuse verbal aggression. This can make it difficult to acquire assertiveness skills. However, verbal self-defense is a great first line of defense! It goes against the “script” of a harasser, gives us control back and breaks the silence that too often surrounds harassment.

It has been found that many predators have a very sophisticated process of “planning and reading” a victim before they strike. Often times, predators will begin by invading someone’s personal space. If they notice fear or discomfort in the individual they are harassing they will often continue the intrusive behavior. This is typically done by making sexually intrusive comments. Predators try to gather “information” as to how a person will react to a more physical intrusion. If predators believe that someone is less likely to go into “self-defense” mode, they are more likely to follow through with an assault. (Lisak, CCASA Conference, 2003).

Thus, it is IMPERATIVE for women to know how to respond early to these tactics, by being ASSERTIVE and CONSISTENT with the message that one will not tolerate this type of behavior. (Lisak, CCASA Conference, 2003). (emphasis is from the Original document.)

It is important to keep in mind that there is a difference between being aggressive and assertive when using verbal self-defense techniques. Being aggressive is often perceived as confrontational and threatening. We can exercise our rights without denying the rights of others by choosing to be assertive. Assertiveness is a non-confrontational way to get a message across. Below are steps to assertive communication.

Stand / sit tall.
Keep your head up.
Shoulders back.
Make eye contact with harasser
Speak in a steady, calm voice
Use clear, command-type language (i.e. “I don’t like when you talk to me that way and I want it to stop”).

The flyer carried the URL for the organization; Rape Assistance and Awareness Program (RAAP) but I don’t know if RAAP endorsed this flyer or not. My point is not to say anything negative about RAAP.

The problem I have with the flyer is the strategy trumpeted by it. That is, it endorses assertiveness over aggressiveness. It cautions that being aggressive is perceived as being confrontational and threatening.

Well, Duh!

It goes on to say that; “we can exercise our rights without denying the rights of others by choosing to be assertive.”

But, whose rights should we be concerned with here? The right of the woman not to be raped or the right of the assailant not to be offended?

It also says that “assertiveness is a non-confrontational way to get a message across”

But when you are confronted with a potential assailant and/or rapist, I believe the sensible thing to do is become down right aggressive and take the attitude that someone is going to the hospital or the bone yard, and you’re going to make sure the bad guy is injured or dead, not you. When a bad guy chooses you as his victim, you have no say in his choice, the decision has been made. He has decided to harm or kill you.

Colonel Jeff Cooper has written a great booklet titled: Principles of Self Defense. It run’s about fourteen dollars and is well worth the price.

If you don’t own a firearm, then you should buy one. If you don’t know how to choose one, then go to someone trustworthy and knowledgeable in firearms and seek their advice.

If you live in a shall issue state, then you owe it to yourself and your family to get proper training in the defensive use of a firearm, and get your concealed carry permit. The world of firearms is not just a man’s world. There are plenty of resources for women.

Robert Heinlein said it best: “An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.”

Always be vigilant to defend yourself, and your loved ones.

The Oil For Weapons Program

President Hugo Chavez wants Venezuela to become a major power in the world or at least the western hemisphere. Chavez is meeting and scheming with various thugs around the world. He’s scheduled to meet with North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il later this month, where he wants to make a deal of trading oil for weapons.

World Net Daily reports that “analysts in Seoul say Kim and Chavez would mainly discuss forming a ‘strategic alliance’ against the United States.”

Venezuela has already established a diplomatic presence in North Korea, and North Korea is set to establish its embassy in Venezuela in “the near future”. Chavez has been busy trying to make alliances with countries like Cuba and Iran, as well as North Korea. Notice that two of these three nations are the remaining members of the axis of evil.

Chavez wants to build up his military, and since Venezuela is the 5th largest oil-rich country in the world, he certainly has the means to do it.

Chavez will probably offer oil to North Korea, which has had energy shortages since the U.S. stopped supplying oil to that country. The U.S. stopped the supply after North Korea admitted it was developing nuclear weapons. And in return, North Korea can offer weapons and missiles to Venezuela.

Do you recall when Pat Robertson of the 700 club caught a lot of heat when he said of Hugo Chavez; that we should “take him out”?

Hmm, maybe Pat Robertson had something there.
