In November of 1621, the Pilgrims had what is considered to be the first Thanksgiving. On November 29th, 1623, three years after the Pilgrims' arrival and two years after the first Thanksgiving, William Bradford, who was Governor of the Plymouth Colony, made an official proclamation of a day of Thanksgiving:

To all ye Pilgrims:

In as much as the great Father has given us this year an abundant harvest of Indian corn, wheat peas, beans, squashes, and garden vegetable, and has made the forest to abound with game and the sea with fish and clams, and inasmuch as he has protected us ..., has spared us from pestilence and disease, has granted us freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience;

Now I, your magistrate, do proclaim that all ye Pilgrims, with your wives and ye little ones, do gather at ye meeting house ..., on Thursday, November 29th, of the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-three, and the third year since ye Pilgrims landed on Pilgrim Rock, there to listen to ye pastor and render thanksgiving to ye Almighty God for all His blessings.

On October 21st, 1785, John Langdon, who was the Governor of New Hampshire, a signer of the U.S. Constitution as well as a U.S. Senator, made this official Proclamation for a General Thanksgiving to the State of New Hampshire:

The munificent Father of Mercies, and Sovereign Disposer of Events, having been graciously pleased to relieve the United States of America from the Calamities of a long and dangerous war.... preventing Famine from entering our Borders; -- eventually restored to us the blessings of Peace, on Terms advantageous and honourable.

...It therefore becomes our indispensable Duty, not only to acknowledge, in general with the rest of Mankind, our dependence on the supreme Ruler of the Universe, but as a people peculiarly favoured to testify our Gratitude to the Author of all our Mercies, in the most solemn and public manner.

I Do therefore, agree to a Vote of the General Court, appointing Thursday the 24th Day of November next, to be observed and kept as a Day of General Thanksgiving throughout this State ...

On November 8, 1783, John Hancock, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and first member of the Continental Congress to sign the Declaration of Independence, issued A Proclamation for a Day of Thanksgiving to celebrate the victorious conclusion of the Revolutionary War:

Whereas... these United States are not only happily rescued from the Danger and Calamities to which they have been so long exposed but their Freedom, Sovereignty and Independence ultimately acknowledged.

And whereas... the Interposition of Divine Providence in our Favor hath been most abundantly and most graciously manifested and the Citizens of these United States have every Reason for Praise and Gratitude to the God of their salvation.

Impresses therefore with an exalted Sense of Blessings by which we are surrounded and of our entire Dependence on that Almighty Being from whose Goodness and Bounty they are derived; I do. .. appoint Thursday the eleventh Day of December next to be religiously observed as a Day of Thanksgiving and Prayer..

On September 25th, 1789, Congress unanimously approved a resolution asking the President to proclaim a National Day of Thanksgiving and on October 3, 1789, while in New York City, President George Washington shared his Thanksgiving Proclamation:

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor...

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of November next to be devoted by the people of these United States... that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations , and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions...to promote the knowledge and practice of the true religion and virtue...

On October 3, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued a formal proclamation, passed by an Act of Congress initiating the first annual National Day of Thanksgiving.

No human counsel hath devised, nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the most high God who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy...

I do, therefore, invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens... [it is] announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations are blessed whose God is the Lord ... It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and voice, by the whole American people.

Let's all remember the words of these great men and thank God for His blessings.

Omar Shahin, one of six Muslim imams pulled off of US Airways Flight 300 at Minneapolis- St. Paul International Airport last night by federal authorities is affiliated with a front organization of Hamas and has admitted connections to Osama bin Laden in the 1990s, according to a World Net Daily report today.

Shahin is a representative of the Kind Hearts Organization, a group that has had its assets frozen by the U.S. Treasury Department pending an investigation, according to Robert Spencer of the blog JihadWatch.

Stay Aware, Take Action

Six Muslim Imams were escorted off of a US Airways flight at the Minneapolis- St. Paul International Airport yesterday evening when three of the men caused a disturbance on the plane.

The plane, Flight 300, was headed for Phoenix, Arizona.

Associated Press reports that a passenger alerted the crew about the Muslims by passing a note to a flight attendant. Andrea Rader, spokeswoman for US Airways, said police were called after the captain and airport security workers asked the men to leave the plane and the men refused.

The Muslims were apparently returning from a conference in Minneapolis of the North American Imams Federation, five of the six are from the Phoenix-Tempe area; one is from Bakersfield, California. The president of the federation, Omar Shahin, is one of the Muslims involved.

The disturbance began when three of the Muslims stood up on the plane and started to pray. Omar Shahin said he attributed concern expressed by passengers and the crew to ignorance of Islam.

Ignorance of Islam? No Omar, I don’t think its ignorance.

Those passengers and crew apparently realized that in too many instances when a group of Muslim men simultaneously start a public display of prayer, bad things often follow. Bad things like Muslim men hijacking airliners and then flying them into buildings. If my memory serves me correctly, this type of thing happened on the morning of September 11, 2001.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is going to file a complaint with “relevant authorities” over the incident according to Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for CAIR. Hooper went on to say; “Because, unfortunately, this is a growing problem of singling out Muslims or people perceived to be Muslims at airports, and it's one that we've been addressing for some time.”

Umm, no, sorry Ibrahim, but many Americans think there isn’t nearly enough attention paid to Muslims or “people perceived to be Muslims” at airports. I think we’ve all heard anecdotal evidence about 80 year old grandmothers who are given a groping in security lines at airports while Muslim and/or middle-eastern men are not inconvenienced in any way.

Once again, if my memory serves me correctly, the nineteen hijacking murderers of September 11, 2001 were middle-eastern Muslim men.

ICE Has Some Explaining To Do

Mike Hamilton of Wheat Ridge, Colorado is a 61-year old man with a rare blood disease. He is legally disabled and can’t work.

Mr. Hamilton’s identity has been stolen.

Mr. Hamilton said “If this can happen to me at the age of 61, this can happen to any American. The more I got into it. The angrier I got.”

Mike Hamilton received a letter from the Jefferson County Housing Authority notifying him that he had been employed in 2005. In fact, the document showed that Mr. Hamilton earned nearly $30,000 in 2004 and 2005 and the reported earnings could have made him ineligible for his housing and Social Security benefits.

The problem is Mr. Hamilton hasn’t been able to work since 1989.

The Jefferson County Housing Authority showed Mr. Hamilton’s Social Security Number related to those earnings, reported by two dry cleaners in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Channel 7 News said they confirmed that a woman named Mara Dean was the person using Mr. Hamilton's Social Security number, currently at Palumbo Dry Cleaners in Fort Collins.

Mara Dean appears to be an illegal alien.

Investigative reporter Tony Kovaleski of Channel 7 News went to the dry cleaning store to speak to Mara Dean about her use of Mike Hamilton’s Social Security Number. Kovaleski asked the woman to step out of the store to talk about it, but her employer, Jim Palumbo, stepped in and prevented her from explaining where and how she got the SSN.

Kovaleski then asked Jim Palumbo, the owner of the dry cleaners; "Do you believe that Social Security number is hers?"

"She has a card so I have to believe that," was Palumbo’s answer.

Kovaleski then stated; "You know that Social Security Number is fake."

Jim Palumbo responded: "No, I don’t know that.”

But actually Palumbo does know Mara Dean is using a stolen Social Security Number. A month before, Palumbo signed a document stating that the Social Security number used by Mara Dean actually belongs to Mike Hamilton.

On camera, reporter Tony Kovaleski asked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Special Agent Jeff Copp; "If this dry cleaner continues to employ this person is he breaking the law?"

Copp answered: "Yes, he is. He has an employee that he is knowingly employing that does not have the proper documentation.”

Kovaleski then asked the ICE agent; "Do you call that part of the problem?"

Copp answered "Yes, I do."

Jeff Copp is the Special Agent In Charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Colorado.

The reporter said that hours before the story aired, he spoke to the business owner, Jim Palumbo again. Palumbo told the reporter that the Mara Dean has a new social security number she picked up recently, and she informed him that the number came from the Social Security Administration.

Palumbo told Channel 7 News that he didn’t call the Social Security Administration to verify if the new card was valid.

Kovaleski said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement told him that an employer can face criminal charges for knowingly keeping an undocumented worker on the payroll.

So, now the Channel 7 News audience knows the story.

ICE knows the story.

What’s being done about it?

Explain to me again how illegal immigrants enhance and support our economy.

Explain to Mike Hamilton how he has benefited from an illegal alien stealing his Social Security Number.

Explain how ICE has known for two months that Mara Dean was using Mike Hamilton’s Social Security Number for two years, and they haven’t arrested her yet.

They haven’t bothered to arrest Jim Palumbo, the business owner either.

As for Mike Hamilton, Channel 7 News says his Social Security benefits are secure for the time being.

Mike Hamilton said "The thought of losing your home, your way of life and an income you depend on. You can't imagine that stress..."

Is Harry Reid Corrupt?

It’s a good thing that the Democrats have taken both houses of Congress. They’re going to save us from the Culture of Corruption supposedly built by the Republicans. I suddenly feel very safe and secure now that Senator Harry Reid, Democrat from Nevada, is going to be the next Senate Majority Leader.

Yeah, Harry’s going to clean house in the Senate. He certainly seems to have cleaned up monetarily with the help of convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who starts his sentence in Federal prison today.

A source “close to the investigation” of Abramoff apparently has told ABC News that Senator Harry Reid is one of the members of Congress that Abramoff implicated while cooperating with federal prosecutors.

Abramoff allegedly told prosecutors that his clients donated more than $30,000 in campaign contributions to Reid, and the donations "were no accident and were in fact requested by Reid." Abramoff has allegedly claimed Harry Reid agreed to help him on matters “related to Indian gambling.”

If you recall, earlier this year the Associated Press reported that Reid wrote at least four letters that were helpful to the tribes that had contributed money to his campaign. And of course, Senator Reid has denied there was any connection between the letters and the money coming in.

Yeah, right.

The Associated Press also reported that Reid acknowledged he had routine contacts with Jack Abramoff's lobbying partners and he intervened to block rival tribal casinos.

The AP also reported that Abramoff's billing records showed extensive contact with Reid over a 3 year period in which Reid collected more than $68,000 from Abramoff's firm, his partners and his clients.

To be sure, Republicans have also been implicated in the Abramoff mess. And if criminal activity can be substantiated, they should be prosecuted, and if convicted, punished.

But what about Harry?

Harry Reid has been very outspoken and critical of the dubious nature of the connections between Abramoff and some Republican legislators.

Which Democrats are going to be outspoken and critical about slick Harry Reid?

In case you didn’t know, this is Nancy Pelosi, Democrat from California, and soon to be anointed Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives by virtue of the expected overall election win of her party in the November 2006 mid-term elections.

Why does she look so scary?

Because she is.

She’s a loony left-wing liberal.

As Speaker of the House, she will lead the way to;

Diminished homeland security (what little there is).

Higher taxes.

More and more illegal aliens.

Eventual amnesty for illegals.

More abortions on demand.

Further suppression of Christian freedoms in America.

No. It's an official appeal by the National Board of the Communist Party USA on behalf of Democrats. In fact, all of the energies and resources of the Communist Party are being diverted to support of the Democratic Party in tomorrow's election, according to the CPUSA's official website.

Last week, it was revealed that Muslim terrorist leaders in the middle-east are encouraging Americans to vote for Democrats in Tuesday’s mid-term elections. Today it’s the Communist Party.

It seems that the Democrats are keeping fine company.

Aaron Klein at World Net Daily interviewed senior Muslim terrorist leaders and what they had to say about America’s upcoming elections and how Muslims view the Democrats was pretty interesting.

"Of course Americans should vote Democrat. This is why American Muslims will support the Democrats, because there is an atmosphere in America that encourages those who want to withdraw from Iraq."

Aaron Klein also reported that; “They rejected statements from some prominent Democrats in the U.S. that a withdrawal from Iraq would end the insurgency, explaining an evacuation would prove resistance works and would compel jihadists to continue fighting until America is destroyed.” (Emphasis added.)

Klein then referred to a recent interview of House Minority Leader Democrat Nancy Pelosi in which she said; "The jihadists (are) in Iraq. But that doesn't mean we stay there. They'll stay there as long as we're there." Klein read her remarks to the Muslim terrorists who disagreed with Pelosi that an American withdrawal would end the insurgency.

"There is no chance that the resistance will stop," according to Muhammad Saadi, a senior leader of Islamic Jihad in the West Bank town of Jenin. Saadi also said the Democrats' talk of withdrawal from Iraq makes him feel "proud."

So there you have it straight from the Muslim terrorist’s mouth.

Vote for and elect Democrats and you play right in to your enemy’s hand.

He belatedly apologized to our sons and daughters in harms way in Iraq, but only after receiving pressure and condemnation from a lot of folks in America, including other Democrats like Hillary Clinton, they couldn’t distance themselves from him fast enough.

Yup, when you hang around a piece of bullcrap like Kerry, the stink starts to stick.

Well Senator Kerry, I have to agree with you.

You are indeed sorry.
