If it Walks and Quacks Like a Duck...

The Guardian web page is reporting that “Iran is facing political paralysis as its newly elected president purges government institutions, bringing accusations that he is undertaking a coup d'état.”

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has apparently dismissed “dozens of deputy ministers” as well as state bank presidents, and heads of state insurance organizations. These dismissals come after his removal of four senior ambassadors from office and places into doubt the conclusion of negotiations next week in Vienna over Iran’s nuclear program at a scheduled U.N. meeting.

The Guardian report goes on to say that there is unease and tension in the Iranian parliament over this purge by Ahmadinejad. It seems the Iranian stock market has fallen thirty percent since he took office.

Gee, Iran elected Ahmadinejad, a known terrorist, to the office of president. And now that he’s demonstrating his dictatorial temperament, the Iranians seem to be surprised.

Funny how that works, elect a terrorist, and he continues to act like a terrorist.
