France Continues To Burn

Rioting in France enters its second week. The rioting started Oct. 27, and is apparently spreading through the nation. One of the more horrific incidents is a handicapped woman who was soaked with gasoline and set on fire by ‘rioting youths’. The 56-year-old woman suffered third degree burns to 20% of her body.

Witnesses said a youth poured gasoline over the woman and then threw a Molotov cocktail into the bus she was traveling on.

The youths who are rioting are apparently French Muslims, and North African Immigrants.

The media have cited a few reasons for the rioting and lawlessness.

‘The high unemployment rate is to blame.’

‘Immigrant youths were angered over the deaths of two teenagers — Bouna Traore, age 15, and Zyed Benna, age 17, who were electrocuted in a power substation where they were hiding, thinking that the police were chasing them.’

MSNBC online has reported that:

“Many of the riotous youths are the French-born children of immigrant parents. The unrest has laid bare discontent simmering in suburbs and among immigrant families who feel trapped by poverty, unemployment, and poor education.

France’s Muslim population, estimated at 5 million, is Western Europe’s largest. Immigrants and their children often complain of police harassment and job discrimination.”

So life isn’t that great for those folks. But how does that justify torching a defenseless disabled woman simply because they’ve been out of work? Or because they feel harassed by the police?

Was the woman who was set afire a Muslim? Who owned the hundreds of cars that have been destroyed? Were they Muslim? Are the immigrants destroying their own neighborhoods? How is their own self-destruction improving their lives?
